Infrastructure Software Test Engineer

Job description

VMware vSphere – Thin Client – Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops – BYOD – Microsoft RDS – Persistent Desktop – VMware Horizon – Microsoft Hyper-V – Windows Virtual Desktop

If you can explain the connection between these terms in your interview with us and you have a testing background, you might be our perfect candidate!

Login VSI is a fast growing international software company located in Amsterdam and Boston. Our software automatically tests and validates any change in physical, virtual and cloud based digital workspaces to proactively safeguard application and desktop performance and availability. This maximizes the true end-user experience of our customer base, which includes several Fortune 500 companies.

Customer-focus in all we do is key, which is why our solutions are easy to use, easy to install and rock-solid. In order to support this, we are expanding our QA team to make sure the test process speeds up and reaches the mature status we want it to have. We are therefore looking for an experienced Test Engineer, based in our Amsterdam office, with knowledge of the most widely used VDI configurations in the market and who is critical, quality-oriented and even skeptical towards our product.

Our software is developed at a high pace and we release internal test builds nearly every day. The testing strategy and framework is an important part of the development and release management process of all Login VSI products. You will be the owner of this test strategy/QA plan from a functional perspective. After all development tests are executed successfully the feature is handed over to the Product Owner and the Manager Product Strategy. Since you have defined the test criteria and Definition of Done of the features, and you specify the test configuration and test data needed, they will rely on you to support them in performing the regression tests, including exploratory testing. This also means that you will have to advise on quality in terms of GO/NO-GO decisions. To improve our test process further, you will review the test cases and prioritize which ones should be automated, so that our Test Automation Engineer can use these as a basis for his automated test scripts and can, in collaboration with you, further expand the automation and setup of all functional tests.

You are crucial in the Product team, since you are responsible for the entire testing cycle: from making sure user stories are testable by defining the criteria, to specifying and implementing the test configurations and executing the tests, to analyzing the data and creating the reports on the outcomes. You will need to be able to work independently and make your own decisions.

We provide a very flexible and self-directing work environment. In consultation with your manager, the Director of Development, and the team you can organize your days as you wish. This includes working from home, working part-time, no 9-5 mentality and taking ownership of your role. With this independent way of working comes responsibility and autonomy: ask for what you need and get the job done. The deliverable counts in our company. It also means that teamwork is very important. You can learn from your colleagues and they are willing to help you and share their experience. Since we are a small team, you are in control of your own career path within the company. We look at your capabilities, listen to your wishes and combine that with what is needed. This means that eventually you can grow into becoming a QA Manager, a QA Architect, but also a Product Owner. Next to this, we offer a gross monthly salary of € 3.000 – € 4.500 (depending on your work experience), 26 holidays and 8% holiday allowance.

You are expected to bring some experience to the team as well, by which we mean a background of 3 or more years in infrastructure testing. We need you to have technical knowledge of Windows and application technologies and experience with PowerShell (or another scripting language), with functional application testing and with UI and API testing. Preferably you have know-how of product risk analyses and it would be a nice bonus if you are familiar with Linux and C#.

Do you think this is a work environment you would thrive in and a job you would like to spend a big part of your hours on? Do you want to get the opportunity to work with the best people in our field? Then apply as soon as possible!
